Embracing the Metamorphosis of Aging

Aging is a type of metamorphosis. From the time of birth, we are constantly changing—socially, mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. We are always transforming. Sometimes these changes are very small, barely noticeable, or even invisible to us. At other times, the shifts and changes are more profound.

Our bodies change. The things we believe change. How we view the world around us evolves. The ancestors remind us that the key to all change, in every aspect, is to embrace it. See it as a gift. Life is filled with so much wonder, even in the moments that are less enjoyable. When we embrace the natural changes of life, we flow with it. When we resist, we create blocks and obstacles in our path.

Like a tree that changes with the seasons—from new growth in spring to fruiting and then leaves falling in autumn—we, too, must step into the metamorphosis of life. Embrace it with gratitude and a joyful heart.
